In Season 2, Episode 10, we look at the important topic: How does God provide? Today we explore this important topic for our lives as people of faith.

Do you believe that God provides?

·      Physical things, yes.

·      But also deeper things of life.

Luke 9:10-17 – The Feeding of the 5000+

·      What kind of miracle is this?

·      However you understand it, know that it is God’s nature to provide for us

·      Genesis 22, Psalm 121, Philippians 4

We may be confused by what it means that “God provides.”

·      And because of that confusion, we may miss out on God’s provision.

We start with: God is in the human development business

·      No life is to be problem-free – God wants more for us than an easy life

·      To be fully human is to live a BETTER than happy life.

·      God’s provision isn’t about taking life’s difficulties away.

So…what does God’s provision look like?

1.     God’s provision does for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

2.     God’s provision calls us past where we are.

3.     God’s provision may not look like what we are expecting.

How do we access God’s provision?

1.     When you arise each day, have the expectation that God will provide for you.

2.     This is key. If you look for God’s provision, you will begin to see it.

 Say:

·      “God, show me how you are providing for me.”

·      And then ask for specific provision, say: “Show me your provision in my relationship with X or with this situation in my life.”

·      Say, “Show me what you are doing and guide my steps.”

·      Say: “Help me act on and live into your provision”

 If you do:

1.     You will worry less (see Luke 12)

2.     You will live more.

Will you be on the lookout (with expectation) for God’s provision in your life?
