Season 1, Episode 18 - Today we finish our 2-part series on Leadership.  Today we will focus on Jesus' leadership and how it calls us to lead others.

Each of us will emphasize different aspects of Jesus' leadership. But one way it has been spoken of is as  Servant leadership. Jesus' leadership was focused on love, compassion, and self-awareness.  He invites us to lead in this new way.

Over the 2-part series we looked at 4 questions:

1. How do I lead like Jesus? (Episode 1.17)
2. Who do I want to be in this new season? (Episode 1.17)
3. How do I want to treat others? (Today, Episode 1.18)
4. How do I want to move my life and the things I care about forward? (Today, Episode 1.18)

(3) As we lead others and consider how we want to treat them consider:
1. Of first importance: serve out of a commitment to the mission.
2. Ask, do this church and its ministry inspire generosity in me?
3. Out of wanting to lead others remember to develop a spirit that is open to listen and learn.
4. Leaders get that it isn't about them it is all about God.

(4) As we consider how to move important things forward consider:
1. Leaders may find they need an "attitude adjustment"
2. Leaders are called to be involved in a consistent way.
3. Not show what needs your leadership?  Follow the Holy Spirit's leadership.

“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still, I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”
— Edward Everett Hale

Clergy leaders matter. So take care of yourself. Get the support you need to lead well. invest in yourself (books, conferences, naps...).
