Description

Let’s make no mistake here. Appointment fatigue is REAL.

Think about it: the logistics and hassle of planning out the diaper bag and packing the stroller, making sure that the little one is clean, fed, and ready to go, and even changing out of those comfy, at-home yoga pants (yes, we all have them!) — and that’s before we even consider traffic and parking. With so many must-do items to check off the list, it’s no wonder that new parents can begin to feel overwhelmed by the very idea of leaving the house!

And guess what — it’s okay to listen to your body and cancel an appointment if you need to.

For many parents who are struggling with feeding issues, having a week that includes two or three appointments is not uncommon. Even without the added stress of feeding issues, that would be a lot! Recognizing when you have reached your limits and need to step back from an appointment takes courage. This episode is all about recognizing when you need to say “not now,” honouring the needs of your body and mind, and finding new ways to reduce appointment fatigue.

Listen now to discover:

  1. The negative effects of the stress hormone cortisol — not only on ourselves, but on our babies
  2. My simple, personal mindfulness practice for combatting stress-related burnout
