- History of distillery
- Ben Holladay was born in KY, but moved west to Gain Fame and Fortune.
- He was a transportation Tycoon, Named “the stagecoach king” for laying out a stagecoach route throughout the west. This was purchased by Wells Fargo.
- He owned Steamships, Streatcars, and Railways, as well as silver mines and saloons. and was also the owner of the Pony Express
- Late 1800’s he was the nation's Largest employer
- 1856 Blue Springs Distillery is started
- The site was bought by Ben Holladay in 1849 and he noticed the limestone springs on the property
- Being from KY, he knew the benefits of limestone water to distillation
- There is a Cave on site that the whiskey was aged in and is still part of the tour there.
- 1894
- Weston, MO
- Weston was established in 1837, was was a stop by Lewis and Clark in their 1804 expedition
- It was the second largest port on the missouri river
- Speculation is that if there had not been a flood in 1881 that shifted the river, it would have taken the place of Kansas City in size today
