We continue exploring the story of David as a fugitive. After Saul learns of David's visit to Nob, his fury leads to a devastating massacre of priests, orchestrated by Doeg the Edomite. David, filled with regret for the tragedy at Nob, offers refuge to Abiathar, the sole survivor. Despite Saul's relentless pursuit, David demonstrates remarkable faith and integrity by sparing Saul's life when he has the chance to kill him. This act of mercy prompts Saul to acknowledge David's righteousness and future as king. Through David's journey, we see a man committed to God's plan, choosing not to seize the throne by killing his predecessor.
