This podcast is all about our cravings, and weight gain -- and the implications is has on our health. Blood sugar, or glucose, is the primary source of energy for our cells. However, maintaining stable blood sugar levels is crucial for overall health. When we consume carbohydrates, they are broken down into glucose -- causing a spike in blood sugar levels. In response, the pancreas releases insulin to help transport glucose into cells for energy.

What happens when this system goes awry? Enter cravings. Cravings often stem from fluctuations in blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels drop too low, the body signals for a quick fix -- leading to cravings for sugary or high-carb foods to rapidly raise blood sugar levels.
