My daughter Freya and I recently re-watched the Disney movie Encanto. While the movie is full of amazing songs, ‘We Don't Talk About Bruno’ is a stand-out - and it inspired this week’s POWERFUL episode of Soul Guide Radio!
If you haven’t seen Encanto (and you should!), it’s about a girl named Mirabel whose family lives in a magical house. The house has blessed each child born there - except for Mirabel - with a special spiritual gift. Mirabel’s uncle Bruno received the gift of precognition… and is shunned by the family for his psychic visions.
That’s right… even in a family full of magical people, Bruno’s gift made people uncomfortable - or even frightened! Mirabel is told that Bruno was ostracized because his “heavy gift” left the family “grappling with prophecies they couldn’t understand.” Bruno’s family feared his gift because they interpreted his visions as malicious prophecies.
But here’s the thing…
