What doubts do people of faith face? What temptations might lead us astray? Should we adhere to the mainstream? What does it mean to follow Jesus?
"Why bother(?)" is a reflection based on 2 Peter 3:1-13.
Now this, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you all; in them I am trying to arouse your genuine understanding by reminding you all that you should remember the words spoken in the past by the holy women and men who prophesied and the commandment of the Redeemer and Savior spoken through your apostles. First of all know this, that in the last days will come scoffers scoffing and chasing after their own lusts and saying,
"Where is the promise of his coming? For, ever since our ancestors died, everything continues as from the beginning of creation!"

But this one thing, do not ignore beloved, that with the Most High one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day." The Most High is not slow about God's promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you all, not wanting anyone to perish, rather all to come to repentance.
