Transfiguration Sunday means that when God does graciously grant you a mountaintop experience in your life, you can say “it’s good, Lord, to be here; thank you for this.”
Transfiguration Sunday also means that you need not be afraid of leaving the mountaintop because the road to the cross is the road to your salvation. It’s the road to your redemption.
Transfiguration Sunday means that wherever Jesus leads you, to the mountaintop or through the valley, your life is found in Him. You don’t gain it on the mountaintop and lose it in the valley. The hands that were nailed to the cross now hold you, and nothing in all creation can snatch you from his grip.
