Forgiveness is NOT
· enabling people to sin.
· merely forgetting.
· immediate healing.
· restored trust.
There are two words used for forgiveness in the New Testament. One means to cancel a debt; the other means to let go.
Forgiveness IS
· a commitment to never use wrongas an excuseor a weaponagain.
· a commitment to love other people like God loves us!
Make a choiceto forgive.
Pray for thosewho have wronged you.
Recall how much you have been forgiven.
Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.
