Melissa Schaser, CPC Pastor of Groups & Community Life, speaks on the Book of Esther. This book holds at its center a brave young woman called by God to save her people. Throughout the story we witness how Esther partners with her cousin Mordecai in order to accomplish God’s will. While Mordecai’s name isn’t in the title of the book, both Mordecai and Esther follow the call of God to save God’s people together. The model of their partnership offers a framework for how we too can think about the supportive relationships that God has provided us, and the role they play in our formation.
