When have you sabotaged the goodness of God in your life? The story of David committing adultery in 2 Samuel 11 and David's prayer for repentance in Psalm 51 shows us a pathway to redemption. The prayer he prayed in Psalm 51 offers us a glimpse of David's shattered heart. After he committed adultery and tried to cover up his sins with more sins, David reached a place of correction, a place of re-directing himself to the will of God. David demonstrates that repenting out of conviction is possible after sinning. It's possible to return to the person God called you to be. For David, he returned to the person he once was - a Shepherd, a King, a Worshipper.
