Description

Hello, and welcome to Your Greek Word On A Sunday, a weekly, bite-size podcast for anyone curious on language, etymology and connections. I am your host, Emmanuela Lia and wherever you are in the world, if you want to entertain your brain for a few minutes, this is the podcast for you. Let's Go!

I don’t know why I haven’t talked about this word so far. Maybe because I take it for granted and it took a pandemic to stop me. Θεαωμαι (Theaome) in Ancient Greek has three meanings. I watch, I observe, I contemplate . What is being watched is called-even today- θέαμα (Theama)and the place where you go to do all the above is called ΘΕΑΤΡΟ/THEATRE
