At my age, it's now become weddings and funerals. I miss our class reunion on account I had to go to a wedding, therefore I wasn't able to see how everyone has changed. But recently I attended a death visitation at the "Fellowship Hall" at the Butler Baptist Church. Yes, I know they changed the name years ago to the "First Baptist Church of Butler, but I don't care much about the name, and I'm pretty sure God doesn't either.
Anyway, I was blessed with the opportunity to go down to Butler and pay my respects to the Smith family with the passing away of their Mama. And while there I saw a bunch of folks I haven't seen in years. Some I knew right away, and some I had no idea who they were. But get this,...one fella comes up to me and says, "Jerry Daniels, I knew it was you by the back of your head." Seriously, decades pass, and this guy remembers what the back of my head looks like. Not sure how to take that, but hell it seems to work for him. Now forever more I will always remember, somebody recognized me by the back of my dang head. Go figure!
