Kate and Betsy are the co-hosts of the TendHER Wild podcast show, and I discovered them late last year when I was googling around and have loved the back catalogue of episodes since.
Kate, a recovering lawyer and CEO, now Coach, and Betsy, a licensed psychologist and certified yoga and meditation teacher are a dynamic duo, and interviewing them was just as fun and heart-expanding as I knew it would be.
In this episode, we chat about:
- How Kate and Betsy became friends and the realisation that Betsy was healing her masculine and Kate was healing her feminine, and the beauty and power of these two differing perspectives in the work they do in the world.
- Patterns of being the good girl, people pleaser and perfectionist and how they prevent people knowing the real us, and forming strong vulnerable relationships.
- That setting and honouring boundaries is a deep form of healing for the little girls inside of us, who learnt to be certain ways to be safe, including a share from each of us about returning to the energy of the little girl in pics we have us when we were young
- The buddhist philosophy of “not too loose, not too tight”, how different people respond to trauma, and how this impacts our lives later on in terms of either being too boundaries or not boundaries at all
- Kate’s background in the very masculine world of law and how very early on she learnt to ignore her inner compass when it was trying to tell her law was not for her and teaching was what called her, and how she has come all the way full circle to becoming a teacher through coaching and their podcast
- Betsy’s early years living from the head up whilst gaining her PhD in Psychology and how yoga became the vehicle for her to be embodied and reconnect with her body
- Healing the toxic masculine and wounded feminine and how becoming aware of these patterns in ourselves in turn gives us the chance to choose a different way of being
