On this week’s episode, host Caryn Antonini is joined by award-winning Chef Dieuveil Malonga, whose mission is to promote the diversity of African cuisine.
Malonga is a chef, Founder of Culinary Innovation Village and owner of Meza Malonga, a culinary lab in Kigali, Rwanda. He was born in Congo and was trained at Adolph-Kolping Schüle in Münster, Germany. He honed his culinary skills at Michelin starred restaurants, Schöte, La Vie and Aqua. Chef has earned support from UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization for his critical work, and MEZA Malonga has already been acclaimed by Travel + Leisure and Food & Wine as one of the World’s Best Restaurants. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants recognized him for his efforts and he was listed as one of the ’50 Next’ - as an Empowering Educator. In 2022 he was named Champion of Change for elevating African chefs through his program.
Malonga's work is inspired by the spirit of Pan-Africanism, a celebration of unity and people of Africa.
