We can only guess what a Psalm would have sounded like; the Psalms' music is lost to history. But knowing there was music to each Psalm, we can apply to the Psalms a universal truth about music. Like music, the Psalms are a reflection of our mood and experiences. Dr. Sams' introductory sermon for this series reminds us that God has given us His Word, and it is useful to remind us that for every struggle and every joy, relevant truth can be found in the book of Psalms. By this we know God more than understands our lives, He is worthy to be Lord of them.
