Death Defeated: The Promise of Resurrection

1 Corinthians 15:20-27 celebrates the resurrection of Jesus as the cornerstone of Christian faith. Christ is the "first fruits," the first to rise from the dead, guaranteeing resurrection for all who belong to Him. Through Adam came sin and death, but through Christ comes life and redemption. Jesus’ resurrection ensures the ultimate defeat of death, the last enemy, and promises believers a future resurrection and glorified bodies. The passage also highlights Jesus’ reign, during which He will subdue all enemies and deliver the kingdom to God the Father, completing the plan of redemption. Eternal life is available only through Christ, the new Adam.
