False Faith: When 'Lord, Lord' Isn’t Enough

5FS-1149 - Thursday 5-Minute Fresh Start April 9, 2026

Matthew 7:21-29 delivers a sobering warning about self-deception in faith. Not everyone who calls Jesus "Lord" will enter heaven—only those who truly obey God’s will. Many will claim their works, like prophesying and casting out demons, as proof of their salvation, but Jesus will reject them, saying, "I never knew you." This passage highlights the danger of placing faith in personal achievements rather than in a genuine relationship with Christ. True salvation is built on the solid foundation of obedience to God’s Word, not the shifting sands of pride or self-reliance. The message is clear: salvation is about God’s glory, not ours.
