Description

Supernatural Season 4, Episode 21, When the Levee Breaks recap 🌊 Sam is locked in Bobby's panic room detoxing from demon blood, the hallucinations are brutal, and the brothers are headed for a breaking point on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.

Picking up right where The Rapture left off, Dean and Bobby have Sam chained up in the panic room (with little pads under the chains, because they love him), going cold turkey. Sam's hallucinations bring back some familiar faces: Alastair (the fabulous Christopher Heyerdahl) with his torture tools, a spiteful 14-year-old Sam (Colin Ford, back from After School Special), and Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith). Meanwhile, Dean draws his line in the sand: Sam will NOT become a monster. And Bobby? Bobby is at peak sass.

Episode Highlights:

In the lore segment, we dig into hallucinations: the different kinds, what causes them, and why hallucinations during drug withdrawal usually hit in the first few days. Turns out the writers did their research.

"Let me look it up in my demon detox manual. Oh, wait. No one ever wrote one." – Bobby Singer
