Such a FUN conversation with Strengths Coach, Kathy Kersten
Here are a few of my takeaways from the show:
1. StrengthFinders is a Positive Psychology Assessment. Organizations can use it as a common language to understand your talent. Add it to your tool kit to describe what’s right with people.
2. Understanding someone’s Top 5 Strengths can give you insight into how someone makes decisions, gets things done, builds relationships, and negotiates the world around them.
3. 29 Million people have taken the StrengthsFinder assessment
4. If you obey your strengths, you can avoid energy depletion and burnout. And, Success can come at a cost if you don’t obey your strengths.
5. Success can be defined by “Getting Paid to do what you are made to do”. Being able to feel the value that you are providing by bringing what is specifically magical about you to the table.
6. Your Strengths aren’t necessarily “what you’re good at” and Weaknesses aren’t necessarily “what you’re bad at”. Sometimes your Strengths can weaken you and others around you.
7. Areas of Service is a great way to bring energy back around to you.
