The Thanksgiving season is upon us. The stores are buzzing with Fall and Thanksgiving themed merchandise. The Thanksgiving Holiday is a reminder that Christmas and New Year are not too far away.
The Bible outlines for us some great thoughts about the topic of thankfulness. The Old Testament reveals to us in Leviticus 7 that the people of Israel could make an offering of thanksgiving to God. Leviticus 22 informs us that the thanksgiving offering was to be a free-will offering, in other words, it was a voluntary offering made out of the thankfulness of one’s heart for what God had done in their life. We are encouraged during this time of year to intentionally reflect on the goodness of God in our lives and cultivate a spirit of genuine thanks towards Him.
