Chapter 18:
A minion of Durmad comes to Maddix, to prepare to bring in teachers to start training Maxin. Maddix is furious at this interference. He makes an unexpected visit to Ivy and Taran's hiding place and discovers Bard in wolf shape. Taran is forced to tell the truth of the curse on Bard, and Maddix immediately starts to plan to create an army of man-wolves to serve him.
