A deer hunter shoots a deer with a clean shot. It bolts and runs full-tilt. The deer is dying, it just doesn't realize it. The deer may run hundreds of yards for hours before dying, sometimes less. Yet, death is certain. American democracy is in trouble. It is like the deer that has been shot, severely wounded, and running, yet most don't stop to consider the severity. Our democracy is failing and it is time to evaluate what has happened before it is too late. It isn't Donald Trump or Joe Biden's fault. One election cycle didn't cause the problems. There are embedded flaws and vulnerabilities in the American political system becoming more apparent and exploited more frequently.Americans assume our democracy is a fail-safe system, but this is not true. The Romans and Greeks also believed their systems would last forever. Even Venezuelans in our modern times would have never dreamed their oil-rich country would fall to a socialist hell so quickly. This podcast discusses democracy in America, and how we can ensure democracy continues for centuries to come.
