A prevailing ethos in the United States for 100+ years is the idea of the "American Dream."The truly American aspirational belief that individuals have the opportunity for success and upward social mobility through hard work and discipline. Just as important is the belief of Americans that the next generation will be better off than the prior generation. Yet, now in 2020, surveys are showing over 60% of Americans believe the American Dream is dead or dying. If this ethos dies, what will replace it? Using mythology & philosophy, this podcast looks at human nature, how human-created philosophies and systems, emerge with a vision, hope, and optimism, but eventually, become corrupted and fall. They then are replaced, often dramatically, with a different value system. It is easy to point fingers at Trump, Biden, corporate greed, the RNC, the DNC or the MSM, or whomever you are biased against, but for the prevailing ethos of a country to collapse, we must go much deeper than the superficiality of one person or political party to analyze human nature in general.This podcast discusses why the American Dream is now being called into question and its very viability is in danger of disappearing. #americandream #podcasts #philosophy #corruption #politics
