Description

Come and listen to our Host, Tina Spoletini, and her special guest Amanda Chin chat in the “Collaboration Over Competition” Podcast Mini-Series.

This empowering series explores what becomes possible when women stop competing against one another and start building together. We’re shifting the focus from comparison and competition to connection, shared purpose, and collective success. Because when women support women, celebrate each other’s achievements, and share their knowledge and resources, everyone has the opportunity to grow.

Through honest conversations, inspiring stories, and practical insights, we’ll discover how collaboration creates stronger relationships, opens doors to new opportunities, and multiplies the impact we can make in our communities and beyond. From celebrating another woman’s success to building meaningful partnerships, we’ll explore how a spirit of generosity and teamwork can transform the way we approach life, business, and leadership.

Whether you're an entrepreneur, a community leader, a creative, or a woman working toward your next big goal, this series will remind you that you don't have to do it all alone. Your success doesn't diminish someone else's, and another woman's achievements don't take away from your own potential.

Join us as we celebrate the power of women coming together, lifting one another up, and creating opportunities that are bigger than any one of us could build alone.

Amanda Chin is the co-owner of Norwood Dental Centre and, since 2018, has been quietly disrupting how dental clinics care for and connect with their community. For her, dentistry has always been about more than teeth. People deserve healthcare that feels human: compassionate, respectful, transparent, and completely free of judgment. That belief is why Norwood runs the way it does. No pressure, no lectures, no white-coat stuffiness. Just thoughtful care from a team that genuinely gives a damn.

Amanda is passionate about building strong teams and strong communities. Outside the clinic she serves as Board Chair of Community Options, an Edmonton nonprofit supporting children and families through inclusive early learning and community-based programs. At Norwood, her role goes well beyond running the business. She is fiercely protective of the culture, the patient experience, and the people who make the clinic what it is.

When she’s not at the clinic or out in the community, you’ll find her with the people she loves, planning her next adventure, or finding some new and slightly ridiculous way to make life more fun. Her goal for Norwood is simple: a dental office people actually enjoy being part of, whether they’re a patient or a member of the team.

We talk with Amanda Chin about building a multi-million dollar dental practice through community trust, inclusive care, and real relationships instead of flashy marketing. We also unpack comparison, burnout, and what success looks like when we protect joy and make room for other women to win too.

• choosing an inner-city location and letting reputation travel
• growing through community support rather than dental flyers
• handling comparison by prioritising real-life connection
• defining authentic relationships as non-transactional and values-led
• showing up locally through sponsorships, events, and Switch Witch
• leaning on neighbours and networks for practical help and hiring
• collaborating with other women instead of racing them
• building inclusive healthcare practices with pronouns and preferred names
• redefining success as freedom, systems, and time for joy
