Welcome to another episode of Nerd in the Word—where two Bible-loving friends (yes, self-proclaimed nerds!) crack open Scripture not just to study it, but to savor it. I’m Gretchen, and joining me is my fellow Bible nerd and dear friend Kristin, and today we’re geeking out over one incredibly powerful verse: Matthew 6:10—
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Now, let’s be honest. This is one of those verses we’ve probably said a thousand times—but how often have we stopped to really ask… What are we actually praying here?
Is it a passive hope for God to show up, or is it a bold invitation for heaven to break in? And what does it look like when we surrender our will for His—even when it’s uncomfortable, inconvenient, or just plain hard?
In today’s conversation, we laugh a little (because, well… we’re us), wrestle with big truths, and marvel at the kind of King we’re praying to.
So if you’ve ever prayed the Lord’s Prayer on autopilot, or if you’re curious about how this one line can radically shape your faith and daily life—grab your Bible, maybe a pen, and come nerd out with us.
We’re learning. We’re growing. And we’re so glad you’re with us.
