We are traveling down to Central America this week as Ian introduces us to the Cadejo.
When you google pictures of this creature of folklore, you at first get cute pictures of white and black fluffy dogs, some with horns, and all of them have glowing eyes. But the deeper you go in the results, the stranger things get.
From the people of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, this creature has many origin stories, most revolving around two brothers who have been up to no good and are punished for their choices by being turned into these creatures.
But commonly, the white dog is seen as a protector who guards those in need of protecting from the black dog, who is out to kill. And that dog is known to take many different forms, which mean different things to those who encounter them.
