Man is purposeful when they are living on the boarder between order and chaos. One foot in comfort, and one foot in chaos. they say comfort is the killer of man, but if one was to live in a perpetual state of chaos they would burn out. your stress hormones would be in an elevated state of reaction causing you to live in constant alert. Like everything, balance is required. The yin and the yang symbol sums this up perfectly, there is a perfect symbiotic balance between the both, with both inhabiting each other. This is shown by the dots on each side, within order is chaos, and within chaos is order. To follow the TOA is the way, to be in the boarder with one foot in each.
Living in a time of limitless potential, it seems man has been confined to comfort. Ironic, how we have more opportunity than ever before, but people feel the most confused and stuck. It seems to me that because of the technological advancements of society, comfort has become the prominent state. The stress of chaos has been drowned out by the next easy dopamine spike, resulting in a society who lives far too much in order. This creates an unease in the soul, a yearning to explore which gets drowned out by the worries of unfamiliarity. Why go into the world, embarking on some what of an hero’s journey, when you can be perfectly safe at home with everything you need. Materialistically, they seems to be no need to dive into the world of chaos. you can get food delivered to your house, you can watch your favourite program on Netflix, or speak to all your friends on FaceTime from the comfort of your own coach. Attention, then, must be placed on the spiritual, on a growth of character, as the world of things is never going to fulfil you as much as the internal journey of unravelling the inherent insecurities of the mind. The Ego wants to be right, to be right is to reinforce its position of importance. So it will look for excuses to put any sort of growth off, it only wants to be right, it docent want what’s inherently good for you. Detaching away from the material, allowing the gravitational pull of comfort to arise and pass, and focusing on the deconstruction of the barriers cultivated by the mind is the only true way to a sense of peace and serenity. Man has been tricked by the ideas of society to ignore what’s good for their soul, to focus on comfort and scarcity, instead of abundance and the unknown.
This is not a call to give up all material goals desires and needs. This is not a call to ignore comfort. This is a call to embrace chaos, to embark on your own journey of self discovery and to do this requires a balance between both order and chaos. another way to look at this is order is the known, everything we can predict and is familiar, where as chaos is the unknown, everything outside the barriers of what know. You must embody what you know, and translate that into a useful tool to explore what you don’t know, expanding order into chaos.
