This week we introduce the inner, hidden life of faith that begins with salvation. Like subterranean tree roots which extend in all directions searching out water, each believer needs to grow and develop spiritual roots that allow us to make personal connections with our God. Christians refer to this activity as spiritual disciplines - exercises and activities that help us encounter and connect more deeply with our God. Specifically, we look at the importance of time investment, and how silence and solitude assist us in this endeavor.
