Genesis 48:1-6, 8–9 NIV
Jacob fell sick, and instinctively Joseph knew he was about to pass on. As such, he acted accordingly and brought his two sons to receive blessings from his father before Jacob passed on. We see that Jacob blessed the children of Joseph, Ephraim, and Manasseh and even made them his own children; as such, they were each part of the tribes of Israel.
Knowing the times is so important so that we are able to act accordingly at the right time. God does reveal these times to us, even the wisdom required. We need to continually dwell in His presence.
