Genesis 41:12 NIV
Joseph experienced highs and lows - promotions and demotions , his titles changed from - favoured of his father to slave in Egypt to head of Potipharโs house to servant of the captain in prison to becoming the prime minister in Egypt.
Even though there were highs and lows, each position was the right title and position for him at each time. For example as the servant of the captain of the prison he was in a position where he served other prisoners which then led him to meet the Cupbearer that eventually introduced him to Pharaoh.
What if Joseph was so bugged down by titles? Moving from head of Potipharโs house to a servant in prison would have hurt - I can just imagine. But if he was bugged by the seemingly demotion in prison and chose to be a prisoner and probably angry at the situation - how will he have served and helped the cup bearer in prison?
Titles or positions shouldnโt define us. We are children of God first.
