1 Samuel 25:1–13 NIV

With all that David went through with Saul, David still continued to show love to Saul, no matter what Saul did. His response was always in love because he knew not to touch God’s anointed. One would have thought the same would apply in all cases. But no, Nabal insults David—only insult—and immediately David heard it, he arranged for 400 men to follow him to Nabal’s house to kill him and any male in his family. Ha!

What was the difference?

David was caught off guard.

The Nabal testing revealed the state of David’s heart, which needed healing, and the character he needed to build.

We need to remember that the test is for us, not others. How do we respond to the tests? Have we imbibed the lessons from the season?

𝙅𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙨 is a short clip intended to grow and equip us in our trust walk with God. The current focus is on life’s seasons. Life is in seasons - so it is important that we lean in and learn from the Holy Spirit. I am grateful that every episode is inspired by the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to learn with me.
