1 Samuel 17:55–58 NIV
Looking back at the life of David before he battled Goliath and his experiences as a shepherd boy, we could find that everything he encountered—the lions and the bears—and the experiences he gathered from shepherding were all necessary to shape him into that bold and confident young boy that could stand before giants and defeat them.
And we realise that God was able to use David’s experiences to fulfil his plans for him. Nothing was wasted. No experience, no learning, nothing.
So when we know that God is deliberate about us, we know that everything we go through in life is training ground to help us get to where God has planned for us to be. David’s training ground was shepherding and fighting the lions and bears to protect his sheep.
We may not know where we are going or where God is taking us, just trusting that his way is best, but then, let’s show up, execute excellently, and keep up with whatever God has placed in our hands to do.
