Genesis 48:10, 12–19 NIV
Today we look at Ephraim and Manasseh, when Jacob blessed them before he passed.
We see how Jacob blessed the sons of Joseph, with the younger leading the elder... God is no respecter of persons. We generally prefer order ie Manasseh before Ephraim, but this doesn’t follow the expected order as God is no respecter of persons – so the typical yardsticks such as age, sex, colour do not matter. He has already chosen and predestined us for a specific purpose before we were even born.
So we really need to key into what God has purposed for us, and why He has chosen us for particular assignments. This should be done instead of competing in someone else’s assignment and then expend so much energy expecting to be the best, but sadly not fulfilling one’s purpose. But for the purpose to which He has called us, He has given us the grace and equipped us to excel.
