Bible scripture: Act 2:14-28
Today we discuss what happens just after the apostles and disciples got baptised by the Holy Spirit - tongues of fire! (Still fascinates me). Peter tells the crowd of the spoken words in the bible coming to pass. Many of these words were written by David and Prophet Joel several generations before Jesus came and they were now coming to pass. Prophecies transcend through time! But what is key is every word spoken by God will always always come to pass. Even the ones He has spoken personally to you.
Another point to note is the gift of the spirit is meant for ALL flesh as the scriptures say: “I will pour out my spirit on ALL people”. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on THE servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. “ Acts 2:17
This shows that the gift of the Holy Spirit cuts across age, class and sexes - young, old, men, women, everyone! The gift of the Spirit is for all that receive it! The Holy Spirit can work in any and everybody and the manifestation in multiple ways - the big question is our willingness? are we willing to receive Him and surrender to be used by Him? God help us fully accept this truth.
