Genesis 46:1-4 NKJV
Today we discuss Thanksgiving. Thanking God for everything He has done and for Who He is.—even the things we may consider as little things.
In todays episode, we see how Jacob, before embarking on his journey to Egypt, He went through Beersheba to thank God and seek guidance for the new terrain. Beersheba was very significant for Jacob, Isaac and Jacob - it was the place God confirmed He was with each of them and also confirmed the covenant He made to Abraham to both Isaac and Jacob. It was a place dedicated to God.
Jacob’s actions show us the importance of thanksgiving. Sometimes when we receive from God, we are so mind blown and busy with the blessings, opportunities, new seasons that we forget to thank Him from the very bottom of our hearts. We may say “thank you, Lord” to fulfil all righteousness and even tell people. But do we truly really thank God?, show gratitude and give Him the glory.
Let’s make this a habit. Today I encourage you to offer your thanksgiving to God as we all have blessings we are truly grateful for.
