1 Samuel 17:1–9 NIV
At the battle between the Philistines and the Israelites, both nations had to bring out their champions to represent them in battle. The nation of the losing champion will have to serve the winning nation. There were very high stakes! Initially, the Israelites thought it would be a level playing field. But then seeing a 9ft 9 giant which is able to wear 58kg of bronze as a coat ( imagine how huge he would have been) terrified them and it was clear that it was no longer a level playing field.
So how do we show up? In such situations, it may not be a battle; it could be a meeting, an interview, etc. Do we rely on ourselves, or do we approach those situations with God?
No matter the situation, large or small, we need to approach it with God first and not on our own. God’s backing is our assurance that the end goal aligns with his plans and purpose for our lives.
