1 Samuel 18:12โ€“28 NIV

Weโ€™ve been discussing Saul and David and have come to realise how far Saul went to destroy David and how low his fear of David pulled him. His fear gave way to evil thoughts from the devil, which he acted upon, and as a result, it drew him lower and lower.

Fear can be likened to the Japanese Knotweed. I have picked up gardening lately ( story for another day; thank God for sending me help) and I learned about the Japanese Knotweed, which is one of the fiercest weeds, with deep and tough roots that can consume oneโ€™s beautiful garden in a very short time, and any little root can grow back so fast. This is how fear behaves: any indwelling can spread through our lives so fast if we do not capture itโ€”even the slightest root of it! Let us not give fear a chance.

King Saul was ready to lose his kingdom to kill David; this is how low fear and the suggestive thoughts of it can take one.

If we continue to respond to those thoughts of fear, we continue to go deeper and deeper. But I am also here to say that no matter how low one has gone - we can always get back up. It is time!

๐™…๐™ค๐™ก๐™–๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™š๐™–๐™ ๐™จ is a short clip intended to grow and equip us in our trust walk with God. The current focus is on lifeโ€™s seasons. Life is in seasons - so it is important that we lean in and learn from the Holy Spirit. I am grateful that every episode is inspired by the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to learn with me.
