1 Samuel 17:4–11 NIV
When philistines with their warrior Goliath came to battle. The Israelites, seeing his magnitude and might, they were terrified. (He was 9ft9inches and his coat was 58kg of bronze - for a man to wear 58kg of bronze to war, just imagine how huge he was!). The whole army of Israel terrified! They even forgot that they were the Lord’s armies.
Fear is probably one of the first emotions we feel when we experience challenges. And in response to this fear we run, hide, feel weak, overpowered, etc.
But instead of dwelling on these fears, let us go to God, who created everything—even the Goliaths—and trust him to help us overcome these challenges - high and mighty or low and small. Whatever it is - Our God is greater!
