Bible scripture: Act 2:29-47
Today we conclude our Easter series and discuss the series of predestined events before the start of the apostolic ministry after the disciples got baptised by the Holy Spirit.
The disciples knew the one purpose to preach the gospel to the world. But how it was going to happen was unknown to them. All they did was trust and obey - they stayed in Jerusalem as Jesus asked them to. Waited and prayed. And then the predestined day came, a series of events happened - they got baptised by the Holy Spirit, spoke in other tongues, people wondered why they were behaving strangely and assumed they were drunk, Peter then starts by explain to these people that were attracted by the way the apostles were behaving- he clarified that they are not drunk and also referred them to the words spoken generations before and those words have now come to pass. The crowds listened and 3,000 souls! came to Christ! On that very day… a series of unexpected events happened that totally transformed their lives.
So I ask - do you think the disciples could have thought through how it will happen or could they have imagined it? The disciples could not phantom how that’s things will happen but they obeyed God - trusting God totally with the how and obeying His instructions.
In many cases on our life journey, we know the destination but we get so bugged down with knowing the “How” it will happen. But this is where we trust God totally as there are millions of ways to get to the destination and God will align us to the right path for us. All we need to do is follow His instructions.
