Genesis 46:1-7 NKJV
Today we focus on the importance of seeking guidance from God. Jacob stopped by Beersheba to offer sacrifices and seek guidance from God before heading with his family to Egypt. His season has changed - Joseph had invited the whole family to come to Egypt and he had even received a royal invitation from Pharaoh, everything looked and seemed like what he had hoped and prayed for - from famine to abundance!
But! before He went - he still asked God for guidance and confirmation before he took that very step to go to Egypt and for God to reveal what the new terrain holds for the Israelites.
And guess what? God did confirmed He will be with them and revealed that Israel will become a great nation even in Egypt.
In similar cases - do we seek guidance and clarity when entering a new terrain even if it’s all we have prayed for? Do we stop and ask God what the season holds for us, our positioning for the season, strategy and His plans for us in that season? Sometimes when things feel too good to be true we go without asking because we are too scared to hear a contrary instruction ( after going though a winter season).
But if indeed we know God has the very best for us, we should be able to trust Him, clarify and seek guidance knowing that whatever God says is the very best for us. it will save us from so much hassle to know the God way from the good way!
Seek guidance from God.
