1 Samuel 25:20-31
Abigail’s leadership was exemplary. She was a servant leader. The servant leadership model is one where the leader is called to serve and love (as an action), and Abigail indeed did exactly that while the named leader was partying away after causing the problem. She went herself to plead with David and did her best to resolve the issue to avert the danger ahead.
Like Jesus said in Matthew 23:11, the greatest amongst you shall be your servant...
Servant leadership is the best form of leadership because it is based on authority rather than power. Through service and love, we build influence and authority rather than using, or rather misusing, power to force others to follow. That way, you are showing a good example to whoever you are leading and also teaching them to be like you.
