1 Samuel 17:37, 45–47 NIV
Today we compare David and Joseph, at the point of their shining: David vs. Goliath and Joseph meeting Pharaoh. We see that at this very point of shining, they acknowledged God, and people that saw the extraordinary, excellent works recognised God in heaven.
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognise, honour, and glorify] your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 AMP
As the verse highlights, we shine our light so people recognise, honour, and glorify God in heaven—it’s about Him.
