1 Samuel 23:19-23

The Ziphites saw David was the enemy and were helping Saul capture him; as such, they disclosed the location David was at so Saul could easily capture him. They based their judgement on what Saul said or what they heard - Saul painted David as the enemy and crafty, and that was what they focused on—not the man who killed Goliath and saved the whole of Israel. However, we know Saul was the very opposite of who he was.

It can be easy for us to make judgements good or bad about others based on what we may have heard from others, which means one can be easily manipulated in such instances. In extreme cases, we don’t give the right relationships a chance because of what we have heard.

The honest truth is, we do not know people’s true intentions or what lies in their hearts. We cannot understand the true motives of another person's heart unless they are revealed to us. So it is so important that God guide us in our relationships. Because He knows the real intentions of the heart, even the ones the person is clueless about.

God help us build godly relationships in Jesus name. Amen.
