1 Samuel 19:18–24 NIV
Interesting story in today’s reading. Saul’s intention was to kill David. When David was pursued by Saul, he ran to meet Samuel at Naioth in Ramah. Even at that, Saul still sent men after him. But interestingly, the three camps of men he sent to capture David began to prophesy as they came across the prophets there. And when Saul went there himself, the spirit of God came upon him; he stripped off everything and started prophesying.
As funny as this passage is, it shows God’s sovereignty. He can use anything, anybody, processes, etc. Nothing is above being used as a tool in the hands of God. No matter how impossible it seems.
It is joyful to realise that God has sovereignty over everything, in heaven and on earth. All power belongs to him. God can turn things around for our good and for His Glory.
