Honour all men! Not because of who they are or will be, but because of who we are.
At the time, David sent men to Nabal, who was a very wealthy man. David and his men had been protecting his flock from robbers. He asked that Nabal help him with any of his harvest to support them, but Nabal disregarded them… he judged David based on his status at that time. Nabal said, “Who is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. Why should I take my bread and water, and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?””

Ouch! That would have hurt!
Honour all men, not because of status, fame, race, wealth, intelligence, or what they will be or what we stand to gain from them. We should honour all men because that is who we are; that should be our character; it’s the right thing to do (1 Peter 2:17).
This is most certainly a severely underserved area globally, as it’s the norm to treat people according to status, or what we can gain, or what is in it for us, etc. But we both can start to change the narrative as we become more like Christ.
