Genesis 49:1-12 NIV
Words are weighty.
When Jacob was about to pass, he gathered his children around him and gave his last ordinances to each of themโblessings and curses.
We see in the Bible that these words of Jacob did come to pass in their lives. It not only came to pass in their lives but transcended through the lives of their generations. Tribes like Reuben suffered the curse and didnโt really take root, while Judah, who was blessed, experienced elevation, and Jesus came from the lineage.
Our words are powerful. We have to be careful what we say, or what is said to us because both life and death are on the tongue. Even when we are upset or reacting to what is happening to us, letโs guide our words.
