LOOKING BACK
We are going to take the initiative to look back on our lives.
Now.. the concept of wounds. Understanding that the deepest wounds that men can experience are not physical wounds, but are wounds of the soul. The natural instinct is to simply pretend they’re not there. Thats not good. You know some guys compensate for the pain by learning not to feel. We put a lid on the wound. But they keep coming up when we lease expect it.
The definition of wound in this series is: Any unresolved issue where a lack of closure adversely impacts and shapes the direction and dynamics of a mans life now.
Here’s the bottom line guys. God is the author of your life. Romans 8:28 says, And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Think about your history… your past. Is there any reason you would hesitate to look back at the defining moment and key relationships in your life?
Do you tend to blame your past or ignore your past? Why might you do that? I want to encourage you to reach out and ask God to help you work through any past wounds, and find a small group of men to help walk with you.
Steve & Becky have been together since High School and were married a few years after graduation. They have four amazing kids and 4 equally amazing grand-kids.
Steve's prayer is to encourage men in their everyday lives, give them hope and direction to be Godly men, better husbands and better fathers.
In high school, my mom used to listen to a 10 minute devotional before the bus came. If we heard Robert Cook saying, "Walk with the king today and be a blessing." we knew we were running late.
