We have been looking at the life of King David. Our text for August 13, 2023 was Psalm 51. In recent weeks we have seen David's unfaithfulness to the LORD as he stole a woman that wasn't his wife and tried to covered it up with murder! This week we backed out of the narrative from 2 Samuel to listen to Psalm 51.
During the sermon this week, we listened as David told of his sin and repentance. I tried to remind us of 3 things as we listen to David's reflections (Be humble as you walk; Be horrified of sin; Be gentle with those around you) After this, we made several points from the text (the Righteousness of God; the heinousness of sin; the beauty of repentance).
